PharmAccess workshop on sustainable medical care on World Aids Day

On the first of December on World Aids Day PharmAccess and the Health Insurance Fund will host a workshop during the 12th National Conference SOA*HIV*AIDS 2008. The workshop looks at various funding mechanisms that can contribute to sustainable healthcare in Africa, which, of course includes HIV/AIDS, as part of mainstream healthcare. Particular attention will be paid to the innovative way these and other organisations like the Medical Credit Fund and the Investment Fund for Health in Africa, approach health care in Africa.
This year marks the 20th World Aids Day with the theme: ‘Lead – Empower - Deliver.’ The PharmAccess workshop is one of the multitudes of workshops given that day. Many different aspects of the global aids epidemic will be highlighted in the various speeches, debates and workshops held during the conference. Themes are for example ‘how to live with the disease’ and ‘what can we do about global epidemic in practice.’ The conference, organized by het Aids Fonds, SOAIDS and StopAidsNow, will take place in the conference halls of the Rai-building in Amsterdam.
