Health Insurance Fund is a fund that supports innovative and inclusive quality healthcare for Africa. In this capacity, it supports the activities of its main implementing partner the PharmAccess Group.


The Health Insurance Fund aims to build viable healthcare systems and the infrastructure to increase access to affordable quality basic healthcare for currently uninsured people in Africa. It does so by supporting preferred partners with extensive expertise and experience in their activities.

Health Insurance Fund is supervised by a board and benefits from the expertise of several advisors. Our board members and advisors are highly experienced professionals with many years of international business experience. They play an indispensable role in the formulation of the Health Insurance fund’s strategy.

Every year, the Health Insurance Fund is audited by Deloitte Accountants B.V. and submits regular and detailed reports to its main donor, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Health Insurance Fund has been granted ANBI status by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. More information


Implementing partner
Health Insurance Fund supports the activities of its main implementing partner, the PharmAccess Group. The PharmAccess Group is a Dutch not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare for people in sub-Saharan Africa. On 12 September 2016, OPIC, Calvert Foundation and two private investors announce expansion
